Questions, answered plainly.
As a precaution, please check with your doctor before drinking Pinkt if you are pregnant. Our second wood, coming next, will carry a daily limit printed on the pack, and is not meant to be drunk all day the way Pinkt is.
Longer answers live in our guides.
What is a “functional water”?+
Water that does something beyond hydration. In our case, a single plant ingredient does the work instead of added sugar, caffeine or dye. Think flavoured water, but with a purpose.
Am I drinking plain water with something added?+
You are drinking water that a single plant-based ingredient has sat in. Nothing synthetic is added. No dye, no sugar, no flavouring. The colour and the taste both come from the plant itself.
How much do I use, and how long does it last?+
Each sachet is dosed for one litre. Pinkt can be topped up through the day. Our second wood, coming next, will be a single measured pour, with a daily ceiling printed on the pack.
What does it actually taste like?+
Clean and faintly earthy. Not sweet, not floral. Our second wood, coming next, is more astringent and woody, and dry on the tongue.
Is this a supplement or a medicine?+
Neither. It is a food product, made the way Kerala households have always made it.
What exactly is in it?+
One thing: pathimugam, the heartwood of the sappan tree (Caesalpinia sappan), sourced from Kerala and cut to the same grade every time. Nothing else goes in the sachet.
Is Pinkt a tea?+
No. There are no tea leaves in it, so it isn’t a tea. Pinkt is functional water: one plant-based ingredient steeped in a litre of water, drunk from the pot through the day, the way Kerala households do. It has no caffeine and a light wood flavour, so you can drink it in place of tea, evenings included.
Does it have caffeine? Can I drink it in the evening?+
No caffeine at all. That is why people drink Pinkt any time of day, evenings included.
